# TellMeFirst authentication and access

## Public reading

Visitors can read public event pages and [browse or search Explore](/explore) without signing into TellMeFirst. Non-discoverable events remain accessible by their direct link, but do not appear in Explore and carry noindex. A link-accessible event is not an authenticated private page. The [public read-only Explore API](/api) requires no login or API key and exposes discoverable open events by default, with completed events available through status=completed or status=all.

The [public MCP server](/mcp.md) uses the same public event eligibility and needs no login, API key or OAuth grant. Its tools only list and search events.

## Creator sign-in

[Sign in](/login) through Google, Apple or an email one-time code. The same flow signs in an existing creator or registers a new one. Creating and managing events requires a verified creator account and an authenticated browser session. Management controls remain restricted to the event's owner.

Google and Apple are creator sign-in providers. They do not expose a TellMeFirst OAuth authorization server for machine clients. TellMeFirst offers no public bearer-token API, client-credentials flow, machine scopes or MCP action endpoint. No API key can be obtained from these browser sign-in buttons.

## Subscriber access

A TellMeFirst account is not required to subscribe. Available native Wallet options use the device's Wallet flow. On upgraded events, email subscriptions require confirmation through the link sent to the supplied address. Creator email one-time codes and subscriber confirmation links are distinct flows.

## Available interface

Event creation, email confirmation, checkout and final-update submission use the existing interactive browser workflows. Creator actions require a verified browser session and the event owner's permissions.

There is no public endpoint for exporting subscriber identities or sending arbitrary messages. Creators see aggregate counts and send one final update for the event.
